30th Exeter Gulf Conference: Beyond Oil, Sheikhs and Security, Plotting New Trajectories in Gulf Studies

The MEP is pleased to invite you to the running lecture series on the Gulf region and Arabian Peninsula organized by the University of Exeter and the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies conference the 2nd and 3rd of July 2018.

The event will run for two days, July 2 and 3 2018, and will be held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Gulf Conference organized by the University of Exeter.

This event will take place at several lectures and seminars around the Gulf and has the theme "Beyond Oil, Sheikhs and Security: Plotting New Trajectories in Gulf Studies". Taking this as an opportunity to reflect on the state of our field, the aim of this conference is to explore the identity and viability of the very notion of Gulf Studies. On the occasion of these multiple seminars and lectures, PhD students, emerging scholars and established researchers will present their research findings.

The event will take place at the Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Stocker Rd, Exeter EX4 4ND, United Kingdom, D line bus Pensylvannia (Knightley station).

Attendance is free, no prior registration for listening participants needed.
